Kevin Gausman Tosses Short Outing Monday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Kevin Gausman uncharacteristically did not pitch deep into Monday's 7-2 win over the Dodgers. Gausman pitched just 3 innings, needing 80 pitches while allowing two runs on three hits (including back-to-back home runs) and three walks with five strikeouts. He was off of his schedule, as his first second-half start was delayed a few days due to a family medical emergency. Regardless of this game's outcome, Gausman has been fantastic this season, compiling a 1.84 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, and 30.5% strikeout rate. He will have a nice opportunity to bounce back in his next start against the Pirates at home.
