2 years agoToronto Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman (ankle) played catch Tuesday instead of throwing his usual between-starts bullpen session. A comebacker hit him in his ankle last Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Blue Jays are evaluating and haven't ruled out the right-hander for Thursday's start against the Seattle Mariners, but it's "not looking likely" for Gausman. The 31-year-old has been terrific this season for the Blue Jays, posting a 2.86 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and a 100:16 K: BB across 88 innings. Gausman is trending in the wrong direction and remains day-to-day. Casey Lawrence will draw the start on Thursday if Gausman cannot go. Stay tuned.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
