4 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (eye) exited Saturday's game due to a scratch in his left eye, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Manager Kevin Cash said that Kiermaier had been dealing with the issue during batting practice, and had tried drops and wearing glasses to help correct it. Cash added that Kiermaier wanted to remain in the game, but he made the decision to replace him in the fifth inning. Kiermaier had been heating up at the plate this month, slashing .258/.361/.355 with two steals, two RBI and five runs scored over 10 games.
