4 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier was forced to exit from Monday’s contest against the Blue Jays due to discomfort in his right foot after he was hit by a pitch. Kiermaier looked to have taken the pitch flush on his lower leg, so it’s not entirely surprising that Tampa Bay is being cautious. Manuel Margot took over in center field for Kiermaier, whose average dipped to .231 through his first 26 games. Despite his stellar defensive exploits, Kiermaier isn’t season-long fantasy relevant except in the deepest of formats. His next chance to return to the lineup comes Tuesday against Orioles southpaw Tommy Milone, whom he has gone 5-for-7 against in his career.--Jesse Borek
