Kevin Kiermaier Dealing With Achilles Inflammation
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (Achilles) was removed from Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees with left Achilles inflammation. He walked in his lone plate appearance before being replaced in the third inning. Before the injury, the 32-year-old was starting to heat up, racking up multi-hit efforts in three of his last five contests. Kiermaier is considered day-to-day. Brett Phillips replaced Kiermaier in the game and would see an uptick in playing if he were to miss any time. Phillips is a speculative add in deep leagues after hitting four home runs and stealing six bags over 46 games in 2022.
