2 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (hip) had successful left hip surgery last Wednesday and is feeling great. "I will be back on that field next year better than ever," Kiermaier said. He's expected to return to full activity in six to seven months, so he should be ready to start the 2023 season on time or shortly thereafter. The 32-year-old is in the last guaranteed year of a six-year, $53.5 million deal that he signed in March of 2017, with the Rays expected to give him the $2.5 million buyout rather than exercise his $13 million option. Tampa recently traded for center fielder Jose Siri, so there's a good chance Kiermaier could be playing elsewhere in 2023. Kiermaier hit just .228 with seven home runs, 22 RBI and a .650 OPS in 63 games before his injury this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
