5 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (bruised ribs) has been absent from the Rays lineup since crashing into the outfield wall last Sunday but will return on Saturday to bat seventh against the Indians. Prior to the injury, Kiermaier had really struggled in August, slashing just .205/.227/.342 with two home runs and two stolen bases, while driving in eight. Cleveland will send right-hander Zack Plesac to the mound, with Kiermaier having more power versus righties - hitting 11 of his 13 home runs off of them - but with a .213 AVG against them that is almost 100-points less than his rate against left-handers.--Nicklaus Gaut - RotoBaller
