4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates shortstop Kevin Newman finished 2-for-5 with a run scored in a 5-1 loss to the Reds on Wednesday night. It was his second multi-hit performance in his last five games, as he is now hitting 6-for-22 with a triple, one RBI and four runs scored in that span. It looks like he may be starting to heat up after a slow start to the season, as he is now slashing .208/.238/.267 in 33 games. He'll need to continue to show improvement at the plate before managers in any format should even consider rostering him.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
