Kevin Newman Launches First Homer Of Season
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates shortstop Kevin Newman launched his first home run of the season on Saturday, finishing 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in the win over the Twins. After putting up a ridiculous .606/.641/.788 triple-slash line in 13 games this spring, Newman's bat has gone ice cold to start the year as he is now slashing .176/.208/.250 with two doubles, one home run and four RBI. Managers can hope that his home run could trigger a resurgence at the plate for Newman, but until we see more signs of that he should remain on the waiver-wire.
