4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Kevin Pillar went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in the Mets 5-2 loss to the Nationals on Sunday. He now owns a .243/.285/.434 slash line with six homers, 18 RBI, 19 runs scored, and two steals on the season. Pillar has been a huge help to the Mets in 2021 while many regulars including Brandon Nimmo (finger), Michael Conforto (hamstring), and Jeff McNeil (hamstring) have been sidelined. With Albert Almora Jr. (shoulder) returning from the injured list this past Saturday, McNeil due to return on Monday, and Conforto due to return within a week or so, Pillar will likely lose playing time. That said, given Pillar's intrinsic value to the team, his playing time won't be severely reduced even with a number of players imminently returning from the IL. Thus, he remains a decent streaming option for fantasy managers in DFS play, as well as in deeper mixed and NL-only leagues with daily lineup locks. Pillar can continue to help with counting stats when he is hitting in the middle of the Mets lineup.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
