Khalil Herbert Takes Back Seat In Week 9 Loss
3 years agoChicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert carried the ball only four times for 13 yards in the Bears 29-27 loss to the Steelers in Week 9. The rookie runner had filled in beautifully for starter David Montgomery over the past three weeks but Montgomery returned to the backfield after being activated off IR. Herbert barely saw the snaps he had been afforded in week's past as Montgomery is the clear-cut RB1 when healthy. The Bears will head onto Bye next week and it is fair to rationalize releasing Herbert to the waiver wire with Montgomery back in the fold.
