4 years agoOakland Athletics designated hitter Khris Davis is getting a day off versus Rockies right-hander German Marquez. Ramon Laureano is subbing in at DH, while Robbie Grossman gets the start in left field and batting sixth. Davis is 0-for-15 on the year with seven strikeouts and two walks and will use the day off to refocus on his swing. After three-straight 40-homer seasons, the veteran slugger hit 23 bombs to a miserable .220 BA in an injury-plagued 2019 season. There's still time to catch up on his power numbers this season, but don't expect a dramatic improvement in his batting average.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
