Kike Hernandez Hits Yet Another Leadoff Home Run
3 years agoBoston Red Sox utility man Kike Hernandez led off Thursday's game with a home run off Kansas City Royals starter Kris Bubic. It was his third leadoff home run in his past five games. It was his only hit in three at-bats, and he also drew a walk. Hernandez has been quite good over his last 15 games, with a .264/.359/.585 slash line, four homers, nine runs, and 11 RBI in 53 at-bats. If he continues to produce enough to stay in the leadoff spot, he could be a sneaky add for fantasy managers in search of runs, as the potent Boston offense has been scoring in bunches.
