4 years agoSan Diego Padres closer Kirby Yates allowed two earned runs and suffered a loss Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The All-Star entered a tie game in the ninth and yielded two knocks and two walks to squander the Friars chance to stay undefeated. He was yanked after exhausting 28 pitches and managing just two outs. Yates tossed a flawless frame Saturday in a non-save situation so this follow-up performance was discouraging. After working two consecutive days, he likely won’t be available on Monday. Drafted as a premium closer, fantasy managers will hope Sunday’s hiccup was an anomaly.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
