Kohl Stewart Opts Out Of 2020 Season
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles right-handed pitcher Kohl Stewart has taken himself out of the equation for the 2020 year, announcing that as a Type 1 diabetic, he has great concern participating during the COVID-19 pandemic. Right-hander Thomas Eshelman has already been selected to take Stewart’s place on the roster. The 25-year-old Stewart did not get into a game this season for the Orioles, having produced a 4.79 ERA over 17 appearances (six starts) with the Twins from 2018-19. Neither Stewart nor Eshelman holds very much fantasy intrigue, but the state of the Baltimore pitching ranks is made even murkier without Stewart in the mix. The fourth overall pick in the ‘13 MLB Draft, Stewart’s next chance at getting on a big league mound will come in ‘21.
