Korey Lee Has Three Hits At Double-A

3 years agoHouston Astros prospect Korey Lee went 3-for-4 with a triple and a home run on Tuesday. The 22-year-old catcher was playing in just his seventh game at Double-A after his recent promotion from High-A. Selected 32nd overall in the 2019 amateur draft, Lee opened the 2021 season by hitting .330 with a 141 wRC+ in 29 games in A-ball. Since his promotion to Double-A, he's hitting .333. Four of his nine hits have gone for extra bases — including three home runs. Lee has the makings of an above-average offensive catcher at the MLB level. His strong performance in 2021 has pushed his MLB timetable up to 2022 and the big league club has just three weak-hitting catchers on the 40-man roster.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
