Kris Bryant Resting Sunday
2 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Kris Bryant is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bryant has swung the bat well since returning from the injured list on June 27, going 7-for-21 (.333) with an RBI in five games played, and he'll get a breather after going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI in Saturday's 11-7 win over Arizona. The 30-year-old has already been on the injured list twice this year due to back issues and he still hasn't cleared the fences in 84 at-bats, but at least he's hitting .286/.347/.333 with five RBI and 15 runs scored. Connor Joe is playing left field and batting leadoff, while Yonathan Daza gets the start in center field and is hitting in the two-hole on Sunday against Diamondbacks right-hander Zac Gallen.
