4 years agoThe Chicago Cubs are without third baseman Kris Bryant and outfielder Steven Souza Jr. for the time being with both on the injured list. The duo took swings off of a pitching machine at Wrigley Field on Sunday, with live at-bats expected to come Monday at the club’s alternate training site. Chicago has been mum on when either could return to the mix, but the fact that the team acquired Jose Martinez on Sunday, combined with Bryant and Souza only just swinging at this stage indicates that the return of neither is imminent. Bryant is the bigger fantasy intrigue of the two, as he’ll reclaim top tier fantasy status immediately upon his activation, whenever that may be.--Jesse Borek
