Kumar Rocker To Pitch In Independent Ball
3 years agoFree-agent right-hander Kumar Rocker (elbow) will pitch for the Tri-City Valleycats of the Frontier League before the major league draft this year. Rocker was selected in the first round of last year's draft by the New York Mets out of Vanderbilt, but he went unsigned after the team had questions about his MRI exam. The 22-year-old worked out on his own during spring training and is trying to show that he's fully healthy. If Rocker doesn't have any setbacks with his right elbow while pitching for the Valleycats, he's likely to be a first-round selection for the second year in a row.
