Kurt Benkert Solid In Second Preseason Game
3 years agoGreen Bay Packers third-string quarterback Kurt Benkert completed 18-of-25 passes for 151 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the team's preseason game against the Jets. With reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers on the sidelines and Jordan Love held out with a sore shoulder, Benkert played almost every drive. He was solid, if unspectacular, moving the chains at times but also guiding the offense to four three-and-outs. Not every team actively dresses three quarterbacks in the regular season but the progress of Love's shoulder in the coming weeks could decide whether Benkert starts the season with the team.
