3 years agoIt was a weird race for Kurt Busch who led just one lap and did not factor much into the race itself. The No. 1 car kind of just raced his own race. In the end, he still wound in the top five which probably even surprised him. The Chevy driver was eight after Stage 1 and outside the top ten after Stage 2. His pit crew did not make many adjustments either but the elder Busch did. One could see him trying different lines early but then just relying on the driver's instinct late. That paid dividends more than anything. He improved by seven positions from the end of Stage 2 to the checkered flag.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
