4 years agoTexas Rangers starter Kyle Cody allowed five runs against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday. The runs came after he allowed a walk and eight hits over just 2.1 innings. Six of the hits were doubles. Cody is attempting to win a spot in the Rangers' starting rotation to open the year but he now has a 9.72 ERA through four games stretched over 8.1 innings. He's given up a whopping 17 hits and two walks. Last season, Cody pitched 22.2 innings at the MLB level and posted a 1.59 ERA while allowing 15 hits and 13 free passes. Despite his struggles, the Rangers have a lot of question marks in the starting rotation so Cody has time to turn things around and re-discover his command.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
