5 years agoThe Texas Rangers placed relief pitcher Kyle Dowdy (elbow) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday due to a right elbow impingement and they recalled reliever Brett Martin from Triple-A Nashville. Dowdy won't be missed by many, as the Rule 5 selection posted a dismal 7.25 ERA across 22 1/3 innings with a poor 1.97 WHIP, walking 18 and striking out just 17. Martin will look to work down his ERA after posting an awful 7.20 ERA across 15 innings earlier with the big club.--Daniel Dobish
