3 years agoWashington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan saved his eighth game of the season Wednesday, allowing one hit and striking out two in an inning of work against the Atlanta Braves. All eight saves have come in the past 30 games, during which time Finnegan has posted a 1.48 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 28 strikeouts in 30 1/3 innings. The low strikeout rate will keep him from being a top-end closer, but Finnegan is being massively overvalued at the moment. A locked-in closer has plenty of value, even on a bad team. Finnegan should be rostered in more leagues.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
