4 years agoColorado Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland took the loss on Saturday when he surrendered five runs on 10 hits with a walk and a strikeout in a 6-3 loss to the Oakland Athletics. Freeland got into trouble from the get-go in this one as he served up a two-run homer to Matt Olson in the top of the first inning. Chad Pinder then took him deep for a solo shot in the top of the third as well. Matt Chapman grounded into a double play to score a run in the same frame and also notched a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. Freeland hasn't looked great since being activated from the injured list but he's likely still working out the kinks following his shoulder injury. He's got a 6.23 ERA, 2.08 WHIP, and 7:8 K/BB ratio over 13 innings (three starts). He'll look to bounce back against the Reds in his next start.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
