Kyle Freeland Takes Tough Luck Loss On Saturday
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland took the loss on Saturday when he allowed one run on five hits with six strikeouts over seven innings in a 1-0 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Freeland was sharp on Saturday, scattering five hits over his seven innings of work. Unfortunately, one of those hits left the hard as Austin Barnes took him deep in the bottom of the second inning. The Rockies couldn't muster anything on offense so Freeland was saddled with the loss. He's been solid over his last seven starts, registering a 3.03 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over 38 2/3 innings. For the season, he has a 4.85 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and 42:18 K/BB ratio over 55 2/3 innings (11 starts). He'll get the Padres on the road in his next start, which won't be an easy spot.
