4 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland (shoulder) has begun throwing off a slope and will toss a bullpen session on Saturday, according to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post. Freeland has been out with a shoulder strain since Spring Training, exiting his last appearance after spiking a pitch in the infield grass. Before the injury, Freeland had had a solid Spring Training, allowing just two runs while striking out nine over nine innings of work. There's still no timetable for his return, but it is progressing in the right direction. When he returns, he could be a potential streaming option when he is pitching on the road, as he owns a career 3.98 ERA outside of Colorado versus a 4.35 ERA at Coors Field.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
