4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Kyle Garlick went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a double in a 7-3 defeat of the Tigers on Friday night. With left-hander Tarik Skubal on the mound for Detroit, manager Rocco Baldelli decided to change things up and slotted Garlick into the leadoff spot for the first time this season. The results were strong, as the California native extended his hitting streak to three games- and collected his fourth extra-base hit in that span. Garlick's presence will be even more important for a Twins lineup that lost some serious muscle with Byron Buxton's placement on the 10-day injured list.--Tim Capurso
