Kyle Gibson Earns Win In Phillies Debut
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Kyle Gibson allowed two runs across 6 2/3 innings to earn the win Sunday in Pittsburgh. Gibson allowed five hits and two walks while striking out five in his first game since being traded to Philadelphia from Texas. The veteran hurler earned 14 swinging strikes on 113 pitches which bodes well for his ability to pitch deep into games and earn wins for fantasy managers as a member of the Phillies. Gibson has had a nice bounce-back season thus far as his ERA is down to 2.86 after this start. He'll make his home debut on Friday against a tough Mets lineup.
