Kyle Gibson Earns Win Over Mets On Friday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Kyle Gibson allowed one run across six innings to earn the win Friday against the Mets. Gibson was in trouble all night as he allowed four hits and four walks, but he was able to keep New York off the scoreboard and earn his second win in as many starts with his new club. The veteran righty has been a solid addition to the Phillies, but he has less value in fantasy as his strikeout rate has been under 20% in two straight years and his 4.54 SIERA and 4.22 xFIP imply he's been a tad lucky to have just a 2.79 ERA. He's a solid fantasy play when he has a good matchup, but he should be left on the bench for a start with the Dodgers next week.
