Kyle Gibson Roughed Up In Exhibition Start
4 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Kyle Gibson did not have the warm-up to the regular season that he was hoping for on Tuesday night. Gibson went five innings while working on his fastball command, but the results were not great as the Rangers fell 5-1 to the Colorado Rockies. The former Twins pitcher allowed five runs, six hits and one walk while striking out four. He gave up three home runs, one each to Daniel Murphy, Nolan Arenado and David Dahl. Gibson has a hold on a rotation spot in Texas for now, but the Rangers will surely want to see some improvement from their offseason signing that was supposed to be a stabilizing figure at the back end of the pitching staff.
