3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks recorded his seventh quality start in Tuesday's victory versus the San Diego Padres. Hendricks was on cruise control for the first four innings, but ran into trouble in the top of the fifth inning. Hendricks allowed a solo home run to Victor Caratini and a two-run home run to Tommy Pham, both with two outs in the frame. Despite the rough inning, Hendricks bounced back with a quick top of the sixth inning. Hendricks has been annihilated by the home run ball this year and now leads the league in home runs given up. Hendricks turned his season around in May, but he has to limit the home run ball to reach what managers expected from him when they drafted the right-hander. Hendricks is now 6-4 on the season and owns a 4.62 ERA. Hendricks will face a tough San Francisco Giants offense on Sunday.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
