Kyle Hendricks Fans Seven On Opening Day
3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks allowed one run across 5 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts in a no-decision on Opening Day. In a matchup versus reigning Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes, it was the soft-tossing Hendricks piling up K's as the Milwaukee bats came out cold on a chilly afternoon in Chicago. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect this kind of strikeout production moving forward as Hendricks has a minuscule 16.7% K-rate for his career. Still, it was nice to see the right-hander get off to a good start to the season after pitching to a 4.77 ERA in 2021. He's a start-worthy fantasy option next time out versus a weak Pirates lineup.
