Kyle Hendricks Is "Definitely Not Being Shopped"
3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks is unlikely to be traded before the deadline, barring a very significant offer, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB Network. Feinsand reports that while there are several players the Cubs are open to dealing this week, Hendricks is not one of them, unless Chicago receives an "unexpectedly great offer" for the 31-year-old starter. Hendricks is currently signed through the 2023 season with a vesting option for 2024. He's been having a good year on the mound so far, going 12-4 with a 3.61 ERA, 1.261 WHIP and 17.5 percent strikeout rate over 117 1/3 innings of work. So it sounds like fantasy managers can safely assume Hendricks will still be wearing a Cubs jersey on Saturday, but there are still four more days in which anything can happen.
