Kyle Hendricks Tests Negative For COVID-19
4 years agoChicago Cubs manager David Ross spoke after Tuesday's victory and said starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks (illness) tested negative for COVID-19 before getting scratched 30 minutes before his scheduled start on Tuesday night against the Milwaukee Brewers after not feeling well. The Cubs have had four players placed on the COVID-19 injured list and two coaches over the past 48 hours, so the club wanted to be cautious with Hendricks feeling under the weather. Ross said that Jake Arrieta will make his scheduled start on Wednesday and then the Cubs have an off day on Thursday, so it's possible Hendricks could return this weekend to face the Atlanta Braves. More should be known on the status of Hendricks as the week goes on.
