Kyle Hendricks Throws Another Dud In Loss
4 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks continued his rollercoaster ride of a season in a loss against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. Hendricks allowed four runs in the top of the first inning and finished the game with six runs (four earned) on the afternoon. Hendricks also allowed nine hits, one walk and struck out three in five innings. The veteran has made a career out of being one of the more consistent pitchers in the game, but 2021 has been a wild ride so far. Hendricks has now gone three starts with six or more runs allowed with four starts of three or less runs allowed. The inconsistency has been frustrating for managers and those rostering him should play him based on the matchups, until he can hopefully string together a few solid starts. Hendricks rarely has back-to-back outings and will look to get back on track versus the Detroit Tigers on Sunday.
