2 years agoAtlanta Braves left-handed pitching prospect Kyle Muller (hand) has a broken bone in his non-pitching hand after being hit by a comebacker during batting practice a few days ago. The team is trying to get a splint made that will allow him to continue pitching while recovering from the injury, which is why he's not listed in Triple-A Gwinnett's planned starters for the next five days. Muller is the team's top prospect, per MLB Pipeline. The 24-year-old southpaw made one start with the Braves on May 1 against the Texas Rangers and allowed seven earned runs while walking six in just 2 2/3 innings. He's been much better at Gwinnett, posting a 2.96 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 117 K's in 94 1/3 innings over 16 starts. It remains to be seen how long Muller will be out, but the 6-foot-7 lefty could see some more starts with the Braves in the second half of the season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
