Kyle Philips Impresses At Rookie Minicamp
3 years agoTennessee Titans fifth-round wide receiver Kyle Philips looked good at rookie minicamp over the weekend. He was arguably the biggest star of the day on Friday, when he caught one pass after another. Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt didn't see him drop a pass all weekend, but he did get coached up on catching the ball out in front and not on his chest. The former UCLA product has a small frame at 5-foot-11, 189 pounds, so he could struggle in the NFL against bigger and more physical defensive backs at the line of scrimmage. But impressive footwork could help him allude contact out of his breaks. First-rounder Treylon Burks will have a much bigger role immediately, but Philips is one to watch in Tennessee's run-first offense.
