Kyle Schwarber Slugs 35th Home Run Thursday
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Kyle Schwarber went 1-for-4 with a solo home run for his 35th long ball of the season in Thursday's 4-0 shutout win over the Cincinnati Reds. He also struck out twice in the game. The 29-year-old had gone 14 games without clearing the fences, so hopefully this gets him back on track for the stretch run in the final month of the regular season. The two-time All-Star is hitting just .213 in 442 at-bats with a .314 on-base percentage, but his power stroke (35 homers, 73 RBI) makes him a must-start in single-year fantasy formats. Schwarber has also tacked on 76 runs scored and six stolen bases in 510 plate appearances over 119 games in his first year in Philly.
