2 years agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder Kyle Stowers has been called up by the team and will hit fifth in his return from the minors on Friday. Stowers was first called up in mid-June, but only appeared in two games before being sent back down. The Orioles' ninth-ranked prospect has played exclusively at Triple-A this season, outside of his brief MLB stint, and has put up good numbers, slashing .264/.357/.527 with 19 homers. Strikeouts remain a problem for the 24-year-old, but he has managed to cut his strikeout rate back from 32.3% last year to 25.6% this year. According to manager Brandon Hyde, Stowers will see a lot of action, making him relevant in deeper leagues where outfield depth could be lacking.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
