Kyle Tucker Unlucky Through Eight Games
3 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker went 1-for-4 against the Mariners on Saturday night as he snapped a four-game hitless skid. Although he owns a mere .129/.182/.323 slash line to this point, advanced metrics indicate that Tucker has gotten unlucky. The 25-year-old's xBA and xSLG, which assess Statcast's expected results rather than actual results, are .327 (88th percentile) and .735 (96th percentile), respectively. Tucker's 18.2 percent strikeout rate is his second-lowest clip over the last four seasons, suggesting he will continue to put the ball in player rather than strike out. Tucker displayed his pop and speed with 30 homers and 14 stolen bases last season. Fantasy managers would be wise to view him as a top-five outfield option despite his slow start.
