Kyler Murray Receives Five-Year Extension

2 years agoUpdating a previous report, the Arizona Cardinals and quarterback Kyler Murray agreed to a five-year, $230.5 million contract extension that includes $160 million guaranteed on Thursday. Murray will make $46.1 million per year and is now one of the highest-paid players in the league after the Cleveland Browns recently signed quarterback Deshaun Watson for five years and $230 million fully guaranteed. Murray began the offseason at odds with the organization, but the Cardinals put their money where their mouth was and gave Murray what he wanted. The 24-year-old former first overall pick won't have his top receiver DeAndre Hopkins for the first six games of the season, but he could bounce back as a fine high-end QB1 after missing three games with an ankle injury in 2021 to finish as the QB11 in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
