Lamar Jackson Has Friday Deadline For Contract Extension

2 years agoBaltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson told reporters on Wednesday that his deadline to get a long-term contract extension done with the team is this Friday before the Week 1 regular season opener against the New York Jets this Sunday. There were reports earlier on Wednesday that suggested there was pessimism that the two sides would reach a deal before the start of the 2022 season. Nothing is imminent, and the guaranteed money portion of a new deal has been the biggest sticking point so far. Contract talks aside, the 25-year-old will be looking to bounce back this year after an ankle issue caused him to finish the year on the sidelines in 2021.
