Lamar Jackson Heads Into 2019 As Ravens Starter
6 years agoBaltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will begin next season as the starter as the team will either release or trade veteran Joe Flacco. Jackson went 6-1 as the starter down the stretch of the regular season and led the Ravens to the AFC North Division title, their first since 2014. The 22-year-old struggled mightily during his first playoff game, a 23-17 loss to the Chargers in the AFC Wild Card, however, he did come on late in the fourth quarter. He finished the season (including postseason) with a 56.7 percent completion percentage while throwing 1,395 yards along with eight touchdowns and four interceptions. The No. 32 overall selection in 2018 also added 749 yards and five scores on the ground. Jackson will need to improve his accuracy as a passer if he is going to grow as a quarterback. The former Louisville star should be considered a high-upside QB2 to start the season.
