Lamar Jackson Not Worried About His Health
2 years agoBaltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was hampered by a right ankle injury at the end of last season that caused him to miss the final four games, but he reported to training camp this summer looking stronger than ever and bulked up to 230 pounds, which is 18 pounds heavier than his listed weight in 2021. Since taking over the starting job at QB midway through the 2018 season, Jackson has been hit 710 times, 100 more than any other QB during that span. But he's so confident he won't suffer another significant injury that he's willing to play out his fifth-year option without signing an extension. The 25-year-old reached 5,000 passing yards and 2,000 rushing yards in 35 games, the shortest time span needed to reach those marks in NFL history. The Ravens have also chalked up Jackson's injury last year as "an aberration," so don't expect him to stop running in 2022.
