Lamar Jackson Turns Down $290 Million Offer

2 years agoBaltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson recently declined a massive six-year, $290 million contract that included $133 million fully guaranteed at signing, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Jackson would have received $48.3 million per year, but he did not want to agree to a deal that was not fully guaranteed. While the extension did include more guaranteed money than Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson received, it came nowhere close to Deshaun Watson's $230 million. The Ravens and their star signal-caller will now table extension talks until next offseason. He will remain under his rookie contract and fifth-year option through 2024, and while the two sides hope to agree to a new deal, the franchise tag could be in play for 2025 and 2026.
