LaMonte Wade Jr. Has Bone Bruise In Knee
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman/outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr. (knee) was diagnosed with inflammation and bone bruising in his left knee after undergoing an MRI exam on Monday. Wade will rest for 10 days before being re-evaluated, which will rule him out for Opening Day. The 28-year-old was injured in the Cactus League game on Monday and will now begin the season on the injured list. With him out, Austin Slater and Steven Duggar could see more at-bats in the outfield for San Francisco until Wade returns. In his first year in San Francisco, Wade impressed with 18 home runs, 56 RBI, 52 runs scored and six stolen bases while slashing .253/.326/.482 in 381 plate appearances over 109 games.
