3 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. (forearm) threw a bullpen session Friday, in which he hit 90-91 mph on his fastball, up a few mph from his last bullpen. He has also been working on his curveball on flat ground and should be able to throw it off a mound soon. McCullers has been gradually building up after injuring his right arm last postseason and suffering a setback in the offseason. The righty was sitting around 94 mph last season, so hopefully he still has a few gears he hasn't yet unlocked. He will likely need more time to work on his velocity and breaking ball before he can even think about starting a rehab assignment, but this is still an encouraging development. He could be a decent arm for fantasy managers in the back half of the season.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
