Lance McCullers Jr. Will Start First Game Of Second Half
3 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. will take the mound for the team's first game following the All-Star break. McCullers is set to face the Chicago White Sox on July 16. It's not an ideal matchup for McCullers in real life or in fantasy given that the White Sox have one of baseball's best offenses. Chicago ranks second in the league in on-base percentage and fourth in runs scored. Still, it's hard to leave a pitcher like McCullers on your bench. In 14 starts spanning 79 2/3 innings this season, the 27-year-old has pitched to a 2.94 ERA while striking out 89 batters and walking 41. He'll have a tough matchup to start the second half but should remain a quality fantasy option for the rest of the season in all leagues.
