Larry Rountree III Outplays Joshua Kelley In Preseason Finale

3 years agoLos Angeles Chargers rookie running back Larry Rountree III outplayed second-year backfield mate Joshua Kelley for the third straight week in Saturday's preseason finale versus the Seattle Seahawks. Rountree rushed the ball six times for 27 yards and also caught both of his targets for eight yards. The rookie has generated some buzz in training camp and clearly outperformed Kelley in game action. The Chargers are set with Austin Ekeler as their starter and veteran Justin Jackson as their backup, but the No. 3 spot has yet to be determined and Rountree could be an intriguing insurance option, if he wins that battle with Jackson being injury prone during his career and Kelley continuing to struggle.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
